Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English singer, songwriter, dancer, television presenter, and author. She rose to fame in the early 2000s as a member of the R&B, garage, and hip hop group Mis-Teeq, who had seven UK top ten hits, two top ten double platinum albums, and sold over 12 million records worldwide.
Early Life and Career:
Alesha Dixon was born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, to Jamaican and Guyanese parents. She attended Bishop’s Stortford Girls’ High School and later studied dance at Luton Sixth Form College.
Dixon’s musical career began in 1999 when she joined Mis-Teeq. The group released their debut album, “Rhythm of the Streets,” in 2001, which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. They went on to have six more top ten singles in the UK, including “Scandalous,” “All I Want,” and “Why.”
